Alon Natanson, President and CEO
Prior to joining Procognia, Alon Natanson successfully led large as well as early-stage companies, in the fields of life science, high-tech, and retail. Prior positions include Director of Marketing and Finance at Teva Pharmaceuticals, Copaxone® division, where he played a key role in commercialization of patented therapeutics for multiple sclerosis, establishing the division and planning and executing its international strategy and product launch. In recent years, Mr. Natanson served as CEO of an American software company. He also led a successful turnaround of two insolvent American retail companies, which were transformed into growing organizations with substantial gross margins. Mr. Natanson holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Philosophy and a Master's degree in Finance from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Yeshayahu Yakir, Executive Vice Chairman of the Board
Dr. Yeshayahu Yakir is a co-founder of Procognia Israel. After leading the company for eight years he has now handed the CEO post over to Mr. Alon Natanson, and serves as Executive Vice Chairman of the Board, where he is involved with the company's intellectual property and business development. Dr. Yakir brings more than 20 years of experience in establishing and managing biotech and diagnostic companies. In addition to Procognia he served as President and Director of Healthcare Technologies Ltd., a NASDAQ-traded Israeli holding firm, which specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing of clinical diagnostic test kits, and providing services and tools for diagnostic and research professionals in laboratories and point-of-care sites worldwide. Dr. Yakir has also served as president and director of Savyon Diagnostics Ltd. He has held senior positions as Head of Thymic Humoral Factor Project at Bayer/Miles-Yeda (Israel). Dr. Yakir holds a Ph.D. in Immunology/Cell Biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel.
Shai Kerem, CFO
Shai Kerem possesses 16 years of extensive financial management experience in leading international corporations. Prior positions include Director of Planning, Monitoring and Economics as well as Director of Financial Compliance (SOX 404) at Teva Pharmaceuticals Europe. Mr. Kerem has also served as Financial and Administration Manager at Adidas Israel, and as an internal auditor at Makhteshim, an agro-chemical company. Mr. Kerem holds an MBA with distinction (specializing in finance and accounting) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Ilana Belzer, Ph.D., Vice of President Research and Development and
Operations
Ilana Belzer brings to Procognia her vast experience in managing Research and Development and operation processes in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Prior positions include Research and Development and Product Manager at SERONO-InterPharm Laboratories, where Dr. Belzer gained extensive experience in management of R&D projects in innovative pharmaceuticals as well as GMP production of pharmaceutical products. Before joining Procognia, Dr. Belzer served as Plant Manager at Omrix Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. Dr. Belzer holds a Master's degree in Microbiology (with excellence) and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, both from the Tel Aviv University.
Larisa Amir, Senior Director Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Larisa Amir possesses 17 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical field working in the areas of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Ms. Amir served as Quality Assurance Manager at SERONO-InterPharm Laboratories, where she managed a range of Quality Assurance functions related to GMP compliance. Ms. Amir was also responsible for Health Authorities' Inspections readiness (FDA, EMEA etc.) and biopharmaceutical products releases. She served previously as the Biochemistry Laboratory Manager, supervising biochemical characterization methods of biopharmaceutical products, and implementation of lab automation and robotics. In addition, Ms. Amir has worked for several emerging pharmaceutical companies as a Quality Consultant, provided infrastructure and support for products manufacturing and documentation for Regulatory Health Authorities. Ms. Amir holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Technion Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel, and Master's degree in Biochemistry from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
